2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo, now there is a site for "Trumpgrets" for people who regret voting for him. But there's a caveat
I saw several of those regrets, and most of them do not lament that he is too much of an asshole,
but rather that he is NOT ENOUGH OF ONE.
Are there really THAT many people out there who got savagely beaten by their parents (or whatever
it was that turned them into these creatures of hate)?

(40,093 posts)He said he would do it in a debate in front of the world and the haters were so thrilled.
Maliciousness was a major motivator for many of his voters and they will stay home in four years if he goes soft on them. I think he'll find a way to deliver, but that will also drive turnout against him. People have to see it for themselves even when all warning systems are firing.
To your original point, this doesn't bother me because I already knew he had a mountain of vile supporting him (they were still chanting lock her up at his rallies on Thursday) and it's a political problem for him if their vengefulness remains unfulfilled.

(56,963 posts)Not so much because he has suddenly gone soft, but because his ADD won't permit him to be obsessed with the notion like so many of his supporters, many of whom just want to be mean to SOMEBODY to mollify their own inferiority complexes.
