Related: About this forumUS: former White House advisor urges Israel to 'carpet bomb' Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon
That is the headline from a report in The Middle East Monitor dated 10/10/24. Matthew Brodsky was a "peace advisor" in the former US administration. But Brodsky didn't just stop at the idea of carpet bombing the Irish he included calling for them to be "napalmed" but he subsequently removed the Tweet. Just a little further indication of what the MAGA bunch have in mind for foreign relations. Here's a pic of Matthew and he doesn't look a bit like an angry, emotionally stunted punk at all.

(613 posts)They have been operating in the area for so long that some Lebanese locals speak English with a thick Irish accent, with noticeable regional differences.
If you met a Lebanese villager, you could tell what village he was from based on his accent. If he had a Cork accent, he was from Hadatha, because thats where the Cork company was based. If he was from Baraachit, they speak with a very strong Athlone accent, said Durnin.

(8,568 posts)That they should move to more secure areas when Israel tells them to and that if they don't then they take their chances. That Israel is allowed to boss the UN Troops around and that the UN is thoroughly anti-Zionist now and that They are in bed with Hezbollah. Pretty wild stuff.
