(152,802 posts)But you can walk away. Just log out, change your password to something indecipherable that you could not possibly remember...and
then you're gone.
Might I suggest that you take a breather? Many have done that and then returned, refreshed and ready to talk again.
Primary season is always brutal.
Do what is best for you.

(62,444 posts)The only surefire way to have every trace of you deleted is to be deemed a troll and get zapped. That way, all of your posts are auto-removed, and dont show that you deleted them.
So, make it good.

(28,488 posts)DU has kicked my ass from time to time, starting way back in 2001 (yeah, my profile says 2008, but me alter-ego was here 7 yrs before that). The best strategy is to walk away for a spell, and then come back with gangbusters blazing!
Okay, even I have to question "gangbusters blazing"?
I just made it up. Sound pretty badass though, doesn't it??

(28,488 posts)The fucking news lately sucks so hard that even DU can no longer be a place of solace.
I really wouldn't use facetiousness when a fellow DUer is reaching out for some sort of comfort.
I'm close to that point myself. But I just wrote this song:
"Always to first to extend my hand, but when I needed help... everybody ran
I'd save you from drowning, do whatever I can but when I slipped myself... everybody ran
I've been trying to do the next right thing
Hoping for the good karma that it's gonna have to bring
But you know that it's all a mind fuck
Dissatisfactory luck
Looking for tomorrow it's another day
Watch me trip on the things I say
Safety's a luxury... when the current drags you out to sea..."
It's a jangle-pop tune - needs more stanzas.
