DU Community Help
Related: About this forumI need to talk to Skinner - I paid by email for monthly memebership fee. I was taken for 7500 by a person/people who
wrote onlline check. I had pledged a monthly payment but all accounts are closed for two months, I don't want to give out any more information. How do I reach Skinner? All of my previous aaccounts are closed and locked but they made 3 attempts yesterday to get in.

(152,301 posts)Skinner is no longer part of DU; he sold his share of it to EarlG.
You can use DU's private message feature to contact EarlG. I've done so several times and he always responds, and with warmth and kindness.
Hope things improve for you, my dear debm55.

(152,301 posts)The PM is quite private and secure. Nobody can see it but you and whoever you're sending it to.

I provided the contact information for EarlG below, as have other posters.

(18,670 posts)If you gave out your credit card/bank account info info via email, you were scammed, and DU probably had nothing to do with it, other than the scammer was masquerading as someone from DU.

(53,129 posts)I'm happy to help if I can -- can you send me a DU mail message with as many details as possible so that I can see if there's anything I can do here?
For what it's worth, you will not lose your Star Membership because they activate for one year. If you stop making monthly payments, you still get a year of Star Membership from the time of the last payment. In your case, even if you don't make any more payments, your Star Membership will not expire until February 9, 2025.
So you don't need to worry about that -- as for the rest, I'm not sure if there's anything I'll be able to do, but I'm happy to help if I can -- just let me know
