Has anybody else been having trouble accessing DU this morning?

For about 15 minutes, I kept getting "server error" down for maintenence or overcapacity. No other site I checked had that.

1. The likely reason is noted in the error message.

The server was either temporarily offline for maintenance or overcapacity. Issues like that are usually just temporary, as was this one.

3. Usually when DU is doing maintenence, EarlG will give us advance notice.

Since that was the other option in the message.

While error messages are often vague, this one is pretty self-explanatory.

at 7 am, when there was no such problem, given all the news, all week?

Some of us here still have nightmares about November 2016.

8. Server troubles?

I wonder if the DU server(s) capacity are being tested for a future Denial-of-Service attack. We are coming up on an important election, we would be wise to expect rightwingers to attempt to disrupt our communications.

immediately, no DU.
