Question about symbols used posting.

Recently the highlight symbol is already yellow. And I wonder if that is causing a problem with the blockquote symbol. It used to read out (blockquote). Now it reads (excerpt). Then (/excerpt)(excerpt)with an occasional (blockquote) appearing from time to time.

It just seems to be buggy. I don't recall the highlight one (5th from the left) always being yellow.

...effects are still two different effects created using two different buttons : a large single quote graphic for "excerpt", and an indented paragraph graphic for "blockquote".

"Excerpt" still only boxes the chosen text within a colored background box while "blockquote" simply reduces the side margins of the chosen text.

Think. Again.

I'll try to blockquote this sentence using the indented paragraph graphic

That wrapped the sentence in [ blockquote ] and [ / blockquote ]

Now I'll try to excerpt this sentence using the large quote graphic.

That wrapped the sntence in [ excerpt ] and [ / excerpt ]

(I used spaces to try to just type out the wraps instead of apply them).

How does it look to you?

Testing blockquote

Testing blockquote

I don't see the blockquote. Only excerpt. 2nd test I typed in blockquote because the " doesnt work.

This is new. And I wonder about the yellowed highlight symbol. . It's always yellow now from the get-go.

Blockquote indents the text, whereas excerpt puts it in a shaded box. I saw both the shaded box and indented text in your post.

Here is the same test paragraph, first without blockquote applied, the second with blockquote applied.

The blockquote symbol, which eliminated the need to type, comes up as excerpt.

It's not working nor is the highlight, which always is yellow and unreliable.

Is your highlight symbol yellow?

The highlight icon (yellow box) on the little menu bar, is yellow. I think it's been like that since it was implemented.

Let me try it, on every other line:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut

labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco

laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in

Just to be clear, what you're using for blockquote is the icon furthest to the right, not the quotation mark icon, yes?

The quotation marks are farthest to the right. And that is what I used until two days ago when it shows up as "excerpt".

The quotation mark icon is for for excerpt.

On your screen (phone?), the blockquote icon is below the others, by itself. It's supposed to look like a block of indented text.

Then this is a change. It is confusing to have quotation marks no longer indicate a quotation.

Just as the highlighted symbol is now constantly yellow.
