1. I'm sorry, I'm just not getting it. Is somebody or organization advocating "limiting the archives" in some way?

Your link, https://archive.ph/1CoYC , takes me to an archive.today article from the New York Times, "Secret Hamas Files Show... " etc. I don't get the connection between "limiting archives" and that article (I had thought it might lead to something explaining some organizations trying to limit archiving).

Many of us have used the archives to by pass paywall stories. I have used the WSJ, WaPo, even the Atlantic, so am surprised, therefore, that the NYT still limits access

The mystery deepens - if the NYT is limiting archiving somehow, then why is that NYT article there in that archive site?

I suppose I could have used the "gift" link.

I'll admit I'm a complete ignoramus on what gift links are (beyond me seeing them around and that they allow access to that article), but I presume that subscribers are allowed to give out some limited number of gift links.

I'm sorry, I just can't pull it all together. Aw well, Producer Price Index is coming out in about 20 minutes so I'll fiddle faddle with that awhile.

question everything

archive.ph or archive.org is the full article, but now New York Time articles in these archives not the full article but a subscription tease? Sigh.

Edit: "always in my experience" should be "always in my experience until now"
