Vanishing posts?

This has happened a few times recently: I see a post I want to respond to, but it turns out I'm not logged in (which is weird, because I always ask to be kept logged in).

Anyway, just now I saw a post about something tfg put on X, him sitting on a lion. i wanted to respond that the face on that lion was saying "Why me, God? Why me?" But when I logged in, the post had vanished. I even did a search and still couldn't find it.

What causes this?

So I have to go to the DU home page to see such posts. The home page does not block anything.

4. Is there a reason why the home page does not block anything?

It would be nice if it was consistent with the rest of the site in how it handled ignored users and blocked keywords - it would be easy to do programmatically.

It does save me the trouble of unblocking when I am in an angry mood and want to see "red"

Make that orange. People do use alternate names on titles, and do do I when I don't want to block my own posts. It happened a couple of times when a keyword matched a substring of my block. Oops!

But that's above my pay grade.

15. "Ignore" works everywhere except on the home page
Unfortunately there are technical reasons for this which would be very difficult to resolve.
