What is the consent form I'm being (very briefly) presented when I post? (Original Post) dickthegrouch Nov 13 OP

After a Microserf update last night.
It's only showing up in my Firefox browser, on new posts and replies.
The browser is behaving oddly in several ways this morning. My Xfinity mailbox refuses to allow me to delete anything and reloads all my mail instead. There was no browser update last night, I checked.

I also see it flash every time I post, and if I scroll down far enough, it's at the bottom of every page.

I do not see it on my computer in Firefox, but it's there in Chrome. I also see it on my phone, which is an Android.

So, I don't think it has anything to do with Microsoft, but the Chrome browser and Android phones are both Google. So, it seems to be perhaps related to Google. Firefox is not showing it and that browser has nothing to do with Google.

So, what IS this? Is it dangerous? How do we get rid of it?

EarlG? Anyone? Ideas?

Thanks.

After I posted, I realized this is an issue I had seen mentioned before. There is another thread about it here: https://www.democraticunderground.com/125627077

EarlG did address this issue there. Here's what he said: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1256&pid=27092

So, I think it's harmless and only those of us in CA should be seeing it. It's because of CA privacy laws, so just choose whichever you prefer, click or touch it, and that should stop it.
