Because it has the most comprehensive coverage. AARP offers a Plan G and a Plan G + Wellness Extras, which for $10/month extra offers some dental, vision and gym memberships - I went with the +Wellnes because it’ll pay for itself. As to premiums, take a look at this: https://fairsquaremedicare.com/articles/medigap-premiums-vary

The premium is $0.40/month and I pay $0.00 copays for the three prescriptions I have.

$4.80 covers my prescriptions for the year!

Plan N is what I’m planning to get in a few months. Plan N is similar to G (the Cadillac of plans) except you pay $20 for doctor visits. And pay less per month, around $25 or so.
Also might do G High deductible. The quote I got from Cigna was $57 month /$2800 deductible.

And to answer why premiums vary if coverage is the same is due to regional/state costs. My cost in MO is less than the same policy in NY.

8. Anthem Plan G

I can afford it, so why not?

Went with Anthem because they had the best history of low rate increases. A Plan G is a Plan G no matter who offers it.
