(2,252 posts)was scheduled to show it on Sep. 66 but a few days before, the still unsolved murder of Senator Percy's daughter happened so CBS pulled it. Many of the CBS affiliates complained after the murder and only a month before, Speck murdered the 8 student nurses so CBS was already a little squeamish about showing Psycho. They sold it to ABC. Psycho made its TV debut in June 67 on a Saturday late night, past 11:30 pm. The shower scene was still edited down to 3 stab swipes.

(10,403 posts)That's an interesting piece of history about the movie. I can see why at the time it was ultra violent for the 60's and coming off a mass murder? Wow thanks for sharing that bit of info
