Besides The Ban - What Would Be A Real Slap In The Face To Will Smith Would Be.....

if the Academy let Chris Rock present the Best Actor Award next year. How cool would that be!!!!

Academy tradition is to have the actor that won the award the previous year to do the presentation.

His assault/ slap on Internation TV broadcasting...that assault triggered everyone who is a victim of domestic violence be iyt childhood exposure to actual personal experience.

Past experience of domestic abuse surfaced for sooooo many at that moment....

over hyped and honestly not that big a deal. People are dying on the streets in the Ukraine.

IMHO Has zero to do with domestic violence. We have gone way too far.

They can easily share how doing what is normal in a daily routine can become a target issue from an abuser...such as the dinner was server warm not hot....next thing she knows, slap, kick, etc...

then, an hour later, the I'm sorry, tears, apology and empty promises...it was due something you did that made me do it ....blah, blah blah....it was not the victims fault...there is a cycle of this until a successful intervention...

The audience felt it world wide...

Stop minimizing our pain! Yes, I am a survivor of said abuse in my past...bringing up Ukraine is not related to this topic...you do us all a disservice which protects abusers...gives them permission to do it again.

Chris Rock was doing his job....an acceptable job as a comedian and everyone watching knew his style...Will Smith showed his true self....he is not really any different that Harvey Weinstein.... just the attack's are different...it's a control issue based in low self esteem of the offender.

drama. And if one can't bring up mass murder in Ukraine one definitely can't bring up a one minute TV drama.

I am very sorry for everyone who is a victim of domestic violence. Absolutely. Just saying this is not the event to compare it to..not one iota.

It minimizes the power of surviving the domestic violence we are talking about....changing the subject since you don't understand..., the slap was a domestic violence assault .... the OP is about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock...on stage on national TV at a global event.

There are thousands of diversional events you can use including Ukraine as you did....taking the focus off the abuse which needs to be addressed. It happens all the time thus abusers continue to exercise in control. Minimizing the trauma.

Personally. I'm just saying that this particular event in my mind has absolutely zero to do with domestic violence and has been blown way way out of proportion. That's my opinion.

And yes the OP is about " the slap" and I disagree that it was as big a deal as everybody's making it out to be.

The Academy did NOT protect Chris Rock from the assault overall....I would be fine if Chris Rock boycotted or just didn't go back to the Academy/ on stage anyways....

Boycott all of Will Smith's moves, TV etc past, present and future....for ever.
