Hall of Fame women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey, who won three national championships in 21 seasons at Baylor, is leaving for LSU.
LSU announced the blockbuster hire on Sunday.
Mulkey, who grew up in Tickfaw, Louisiana, will be introduced in a news conference on Monday

This is probably about as big a story as you're gonna get in women's college basketball, short of Geno Auriemma retiring....which he is not, as far as anyone knows.

(197,183 posts)I dont follow womens ball but I know that anyone whos been somewhere that long and having won 3 National Championships leaving is a big deal. Very interesting.

(28,493 posts)How does someone make it into a Hall of Fame, any Hall of Fame, while still engaged in the work that gets them into that Hall of Fame?
I know my ignorance is showing, but I'd appreciate clarification here.

(64,833 posts)Pretty sure coaches like Coach K, Jim Boeheim and others are in the HOF. Just depends on who makes the rules.

Tara Vanderveer from Ohio State to Stanford was big.
I am a fairly big women's bball fan and this is truly surprising.

(7 posts)Speaking of the hall of fame. Have you heard about the Poker Hall of Fame? Its early list is quite interesting, given that most inducted names were based on legends or tales.
