North Korea threatens Guam again with another supposed missile attack
Guam North Korea has threatened shoot missiles into the waters near Guam once again ahead of joint U.S. and South Korean naval exercises which are scheduled for Monday according to a report out of CNN
North Korea threatened to develop a plan to shoot missiles off the coast of Guam in mid August after President Donald Trump warned that any threat from the hermit kingdom would result in Fire and Fury the likes of which the world has never seen before. DPRK leader Kim Jong Un reviewed the plan in mid August but opted not to shoot any missiles in Guams direction. Instead since then North Korea has opted to shoot two missiles over Northern Japan in to the Pacific Ocean.
This time the DPRK state media is warning that reckless moves by the us will compel them to take action according to CNN. The threats do not come from Kim Jong Un himself but rather from a researcher for the Institute for American Studies of the North Korean Foreign Ministry named Kim Kwang Hak. The KCNA quoted the researcher as saying,We have already warned several times that we will take counteractions for self-defense, including a salvo of missiles into waters near the US territory of Guam, and The US military action hardens our determination that the US should be tamed with fire and lets us take our hand closer to the trigger for taking the toughest countermeasure.
The KCNA said these threats are due to a list of U.S. provocations including numerous threats from President Turmp, deployments of a U.S. nuclear submarine and aircraft carrier to the region and the up coming joint naval drills with the U.S. and South Korea.
The KCNA article ended saying the U.S. would be bear the sole responsibility for pushing the situation on the peninsula to the point of explosion.
