Calvo uses hearse to call for legislature to hear $125M borrowing, tax increase proposal for GMH

Gov. Eddie Calvo's people this morning parked a hearse right at the entrance to the Guam Congress building and posted messages on the vehicle to call for legislature to hear a $125M borrowing and tax increase proposal for Guam Memorial Hospital.

The governor's press release said the hearse "symbolizes the consequence of the legislature’s inaction to hold a public hearing on two life-saving GMH bills."

"The bills, if passed, would fully fund the Guam Memorial Hospital every year. They would modernize medical equipment and facilities so that all the people of Guam, rich and poor, have access to quality healthcare right here at home," Calvo's press release stated.

The bills were introduced in July.
