Democratic Primaries

As someone still mourning the loss of Warren from the primaries, and as it looks like Biden will be our nominee, I just want to put one simple idea out there: we need EVERYONE on board this November. And this includes having a short memory for slights inflicted and endured in our primary campaign.
The less time we spend lording it over supporters of vanquished candidates, the sooner we can get serious about the main task: unseating Trump. The less we dwell on the mistakes or even bad behaviors of supporters of a candidate who is finished, the more genuine good will and enthusiasm those supporters will have entering the general election. We have no margin to squabble about who deserved or didn't deserve what, because we will slide into full dictatorship if we don't nip this disease in November.
Let's be gracious in victory. Let us be dignified in (primary) defeat. And most of all, let us all remember that far more unites us than divides us.

(3,318 posts)to be both gracious and to understand what drove Warren's supporters. Taking criticism of Joe's policies and history as criticisms of the man (and by extension themselves) is only going to cause hurt.

(34 posts)It is important for the democratic party to start supporting progressives and appointing progressives to leadership roles. That is at a bare minimum the gesture that will be needed to get progressive votes. Anything less would be selling out our values.
