Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMSNBC is flooding the airwaves with Berners, like Ari Melber, who
seem believe the debate will turn Bernies campaign around and he will capture the nomination. Its amazing to hear them answer the Bernies path question.

(13,032 posts)Once it's settled down to one person -- Bernie or Joe -- all the drama is gone, along with half of their ad revenue. The drama will increase as we approach November, but until then it's all Steve Kornacki, all the time.

(17,615 posts)Without a major incident. That isn't likely.
Even if joe was disappeared tomorrow bernie still wouldn't win. Bloomberg would pop back in, or warren, and take delegates starving bernie. He wouldn't hit 50% and a floor vote would not go well for him.
His supporters have no more threats to make. They won't even be there for him in the GE if he ever got there (which he won't).
But karnacki was clear. No path. None. Not even close.
No path. No leverage.
MSNBC is just trying to keep people tuned in. F' them.

(56,357 posts)Other than that she's just a tool. She was shocked last night at how bad Sanders lost & kept asking questions looking for a glimmer of hope to prop sanders up (that never came).
Don't even get me started on her bias during the 2016 Primary.

(14,565 posts)I agree, she is at her best in stuff like the impeachment hearings. Also she's very good at researching and dissecting the past.
Rachel is always at her worst during election years. She has lousy handicapping instincts and therefore is dependably baffled by actual results. It's obvious she doesn't expose herself to counter opinion nearly enough, not to the point she can actually think as they think. That is the breakthrough moment, when you can change shoes and sense accurately what the other side is thinking, and how they weigh certain variables, even if you don't agree with any of it. It's like learning another language when you realize you suddenly can think silently in that language also. If you never reach that point then you don't truly know the language.
I'm amazed nobody truly exceptional has come along for a role like that. If so, Rachel would be easily downplayed and people would wonder what they ever saw in her. I always think of it as a failed litmus test for MSNBC that Rachel Maddow is the best they can come up with.

Second, I've been watching MSNBC since this morning (I don't have a life), and no way have they been flooding the airwaves with BS supporters.
I guess we all see and hear what we want.
