in Joe Biden Candidate Group! SHE's my 'selectee' as AG, THRILLED for the suggestion she's on Joe B's list!

(5,385 posts)I really want to see her as AG. What people don't get when names like Kamala Harris are thrown out, is that we want someone who is not a politician in that position when the investigations get started.

I agree with this reasoning.

(137,081 posts)I noticed names of the women mentioned in the letter, Dana Remus, Biden for President General Counsel, and Georgette Brammer, Southeast Regional Deputy Finance Director, and assumed they were staffing up.
Far from my area(s) of expertise, but I'm surely thinking about the campaign.

(155,931 posts)We were told that the call was off the record and there was no press on the call. We had 90+ attorneys on the call and covered some issues for the upcoming general election
Sally Yates was great. We need to get a POTUS who respects the rule of law. She is going to be a great surrogate for Joe.
This is the part of the fellow up e-mail that I got last night
Dear Friends-
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us on the call today. And a special thanks to the former U.S. Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates for speaking with us. As she noted, we are less than a year away from having a president who will respect the rule of law, respect the public servants of the DOJ, and act as a leader we can trust. But it will take all of us to ensure he is elected. It's clear that
Joe Biden is the best prepared to be President on day one, to address crises such as the one we find ourselves in, and to unite our country in these complicated, anxious times.
Our legal team is working closely with state election officials and public health officials on voter protection. As Joe Biden said on Tuesday night, were extremely grateful for the poll workers who worked closely with public health officials to maintain our democracy and allowed people to vote safely at a social distance on Tuesday......
As we navigate what will be a virtual campaign without mass gatherings, rallies, or the canvassing that we are all familiar with, we need help reaching out to voters through the primaries. Check out our action center to see how you can help....

"We Can't Let Coronavirus Postpone Elections" by Jon Meacham.
Meacham outlines that at other moments of crisis - including amid the Civil War, the Spanish Flu, the War of 1812, World War II, and after 9/11, America continued to hold elections.

(137,081 posts)Been thinking of him/them in Wilmington; hope Delaware fares well, especially as it's among the states cited by Cuomo as so close to NY as maybe being in jeopardy, and near 'lockdown.'
