...arguably skews younger than Biden's? In other words, because younger folks are not a vulnerable population, does this mean that Bernie could win because older voters are encouraged to stay home given that the RNC won the lawsuit against the DNC to accept absentee ballots over a longer period of time?

(5,052 posts)There is still mail-in ballots and from the photos I've seen, the voters on lines still seem to be on the older side. But no matter who win or lose, it's hard to call this election to be legitimate with a pandemic happening.

(17,772 posts)While there was a rush to get absentee ballots, there is no extension of time to send them in despite all the delays to due to COVID-19.

(10,575 posts)They seem to be otherwise preoccupied, thus failing to actually make it to the ballot box. I don't see WI turning out any differently.

Nothing new about some of his base not making it to the ballot box, though. Higher numbers of those who enjoy his rallies and social media campaigning than supporters of other candidates don't register to vote or otherwise bother to vote. Same as in 2016, and in 2018 for those candidates he genuinely supported.

(17,498 posts)Bidens support comes from the AA community which saw polling places closed today (only 20 out of 180 sites opened in milwaukee), and elderly voters who shouldn't be going out.
Sure, joe has broad support in all groups except the most activist separatists, but Bernie's bots are trump voters who don't care and just want a chaos result or are zealots and will show up for him.

(1,701 posts)Worse than that. MIlwaukee, with a population >600,000 people had 5 (five) in person polling stations.
Want a reason the GOP was willing to commit actual murder by sending people out to get COVID19 voting in person today? There you have it.

Every voter got to pick, on the ballot, which primary they were voting in, R or D. Anyone can vote for either primary.

Even more than ever, Americans dont want a disrupter. Weve had enough of that shit.
The entire nation know the candidates. Biden and Trump.
The last thing Democratic voters want is another old populist guy yelling platitudes at us. Weve had enough of that.
We need solid policy positions that can actually pass in the Congress.

(8,478 posts)1. More primaries to lose ?
2. More endorsements from fellow Senators ?
3. More TV appearances ?
"Assessing a campaign" usually means counting your votes and future votes. There's no sign that Bernie considers a vote count as his primary method of "assessing."
If not votes, then Bernie should be thinking of legacy. Legacy in a losing voting battle means that Bernie is 3rd man in a 2 man race.

(8,489 posts)Bernie needs to win every race by about 25% to win the nomination and Joe Biden could LOSE every race by about 10% and still clinch.
WTF difference does it make whether or not Bernie over-performs a bit under shitty turn-out conditions?
