How many Christian/Religious are voting for BIDEN in 2020 (or already have)?

I think there is a misconception that anyone who is Christian is stupidly voting for TRUMP.

I just want the facts. How many people on DU are Christian or Religious and have a brain and will vote or have already voted for BIDEN?

I was off DU for awhile and haven't earned back my "STAR" status, so this is not going to be an actual "poll" but just put:

8. Thanks. Even the Pope seems to believe in tolerance not hatred of those who are different.

Pope Francis is much more a heartfelt leader than Pope Benedict was. He still has to be careful because much of the world is in this crazed mode of righteous anger over stupid stuff. God gave us free will. He gave us laws. He gave us forgiveness. We each take our own path and the consequences of our actions. Our example and kindness will go farther than trying to force anyone to be "Godly" in the way any one faith demands.

Romans 3 is on my mind today. The law can not make us holy. We must put our feet on the right path. These days knowing what that path is is the challenge.

3. I think it's mostly the white Evangelical Christians...

... who still support him, according to recent polls.

They were 26% of the 71% total white voters (about 3 out of 8) in 2016 per the CNN exit polls, overwhelmingly voting for him over Clinton.

Catholics and others, not as much.

9. It began with the Fundamentalists. I do have a Catholic friend and Catholic Aunt who've been duped.

It is the abortion issue. Pro Life = Anti Dem in so many people's minds.

Only those who believe it is God's place to judge someone in that situation and not our own, can get past it.

I would like to see Dems and Republicans (maybe like those in the Lincoln group) who can see some sort of Bi-Partisan solution that leaves birth control, even the morning after pill available under the law and abortion in severe cases, but hopefully still early on and not as simple birth control. Educating and empowering women to make better choices can still be Democratic, but when one has been raped or the victim of incest, there has to be some compassion.

10. My Dad was a Methodist, my Mom Catholic.

I found a United Methodist Church that I liked, but the minister moved out to Chicago and a former Baptist minister took his place. It changed the place for me so I went back to Non-Denom Christian.

What I like about Methodists is they put feet to their faith without believing that that is their salvation, more a simple obligation. It was something my Mom and Dad both agreed on. In fact, she got him to go to her Charismatic Prayer Meetings and he met and made a good friend there.

5. Evangelicals are more likely to believe...

... that God will punish the entire country (them included) unless their beliefs are forced on this country.

Like when Pat Robertson of the 700 Club blamed "sinful" behavior in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina. What about his devout followers killed there? Well, they were still punished because of their neighbors according to him.

No "live and let live" with that dangerous mindset.

11. Yeah in her late years my Mom drank the "700 Club Koolaid" it was sad.

She spent so much time focused on how gays were the worst thing ever.

I left the Church when Catholics went back to believing they would be the only people going to Heaven and gays were evil and we must purge them, control them etc. Pope Benedict just turned my stomach.

I said to those who asked, "I will believe no one, no church who tells me who I should 'hate in God's name' as that is blasphemous in my mind. GOD IS LOVE and to hate in HIS name is just wrong to me. I can't do it. Jesus didn't."

The WHOLE world. God doesn't make exceptions and neither do I.

It is a challenge in Trump's case, but I work at not hating him either. Just the evil he does.

He’s getting 4 votes from our house, and everyone I know at church are voting for him and a straight Dem ticket for our state. Same for our retired pastor and her family.
