Klobuchar sees room for private sector 'spirit of entrepreneurship' in Democratic Party
CONCORD, N.H.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota considers herself a progressive, which to her means, youd better make progress. She makes it clear shes not a Democratic socialist. With Sen. Bernie Sanders set on Wednesday to deliver what his campaign is billing as a major address to put democratic socialism in its historic context as part of the American progressive tradition, Klobuchar said in New Hampshire on Monday shes looking forward to hearing what he has to say.
My approach is that we are the Democratic Party, and we need to work to make this economy work for everyone, Klobuchar told WMUR during an interview at the Shaheen and Gordon law firm in Concord, the second of three stops in her latest visit to the Granite State.
I have faith that our private sector is going to be strong and create jobs, and at the same time, we need a check and balance.

The three-term senator, who is among 24 announced Democratic candidates for president, insisted she is unfazed by her showings at 1 percent nationally and 1.5 percent in New Hampshire according to the latest Real Clear Politics polling averages -- with just more than seven months to go until the New Hampshire primary.
Im someone who has built trust and thats how Ive gotten to win every single election Ive ever run, she said. And Ive done it slowly but surely by earning peoples trust.
