1. The fact that he resorted to this tantrum & expected it to work for him

says a lot about the utter cowardice of US businessmen and politicians who have continually caved into this behavior.

2. Well said. He is used to flying off the handle if he doesn't get his own way, not a quality desirable in a POTUS

Turning over the nation's public assets to the billionaire class would get a lot more airtime if krasnov wasn't filling the airwaves with lunacy. As would the coverup of the biggest scandal in the nation's history.

4. Exactly! His desperate efforts to distract are dissolving democracy as we know it

And once he's no longer running the government by tantrums and edicts, it's going to take more than one generation to return the government to the Democratic Republic as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

5. The arc of my life has been marked by continual degradation of the public sphere

Basically, those of us who have been around for decades remember when government functioned at least somewhat in the interests of the average person...I benefited from grants and programs (and paid much more in taxes as a result so a net benefit to the nation)...but have witnessed the accelerating degradation of the government as the oligarchy takes overt control and directs policy to enrich the few at the expense of the many.

End times now when they are just looting the nation openly and dismantling the government. The rest of our lives will be blighted.

Ten years in power and they will have stripped the nation of all public assets and anything that doesn't benefit the super wealthy.

6. You are exactly right. Having grown up when I did, there are many times that I can't believe this is happening

I'm in Northeastern New York, so what's happening now hasn't affected my region up close and personally all that much - yet. But we have been subject to the representation of Stefanik who has chosen to represent the felon-in-chief rather than the people of the 21st District. And of course we have seen prices rise substantially, both at the grocery stores and now that regular gas prices have reached $4-a-gallon, at least the last time I checked.

I also have a lot of fear - while we keep hearing that the Democrats are winning elections all over, but what will we have to go through until the next major election?? The news tells us that the felon-in-chief is trying to control who can vote and how - and that there may be threats for those who brave going to the polls if he gets away with sending his personal election monitors. And, though we are waiting with hope for that election, his making The People's House his own is not a good sign.

So I'm scared, too. And if we manage to take back the government, how long will it take to repair what has been dismantled?? My guess is at least a generation - meanwhile we know that the ruling party tends to be at a disadvantage in the subsequent election, and we already have so much that desperately needs repair.
