I did check before starting to compose my post (two times, thanks to my old, fat fingers) but by the time I finished, you had posted yours.
Sorry about that.
It was a dupe of this Sector 001 post:

From the video, it seems pretty clear that the woman didn't think the man was trying to steal her child when the incident occurred. She sure got a lot of media and public attention after she reported an attempted kidnapping to the police, though.
The prosecutor tried to keep the defense lawyer from getting a copy of the Walmart video. I wonder why.

Woman Lies, Innocent Man Arrested, 47 DAYS in Jail - LAWSUIT
The Civil Rights Lawyer
Feb 25 2026
This man goes into a Walmart to buy his elderly mother some over-the-counter arthritis medication. Meanwhile, this woman is riding around on a mobility scooter, even though shes not disabled. Her kids are literally hanging off it as she puts around the store. The man cant find what hes looking for, so when he sees this woman, he asks her if she knows where he can find it. Then, all hell breaks loose. The man, Mick Patel, ends up spending 47 days in jail over what were obviously-false accusations (and as it turns out, this may not have been her first time). A lawsuit was just filed. I got the chance to speak to his civil rights attorneys.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) A Cobb County man who was wrongfully arrested on attempted kidnapping charges has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit, alleging misconduct by law enforcement and prosecutors.
The lawsuit names the Cobb County District Attorneys Office, Acworth Police, and Caroline Miller the woman who accused Mahendra Mick Patel of attempting to kidnap her toddler inside a Walmart.
There was a concerted effort to make sure Mr. Patel went down for a crime they knew he did not commit, said Patels attorney, Solomon Radner.
According to the complaint, police and prosecutors pursued criminal charges without probable cause and held Patel in jail for more than 40 days, despite surveillance footage that his attorneys say clearly showed no crime occurred.
