I knew this was going to be a very interesting read the moment the headline popped up on the screen: "CBS Studios Killed ‘Brady Bunch’ Revival Over Cindy Brady Actor’s Hate Speech." Hate speech? Good grief, she really is a piece of work!

It's a shame she ruined that Brady Bunch revival for all the people who worked on it, but I can understand why they didn't go ahead with it. Even if they recast Cindy, Olsen sounds like the kind of loose cannon that would have probably created all kinds of bad publicity and made things hard for everyone concerned.

Two things in particular came to my mind while I was reading. One was the phrase "spoled brat." That's how she comes across to me, like an incredibly privileged individual who doesn't appreciate her privilege one bit and has squandered it recklessly for foolish, petty reasons.

The second thing that hit me was the homophobia. I thought, "Does she not know or care that the guy who played her loving stepfather all those years was gay?" I know Robert Reid was very closeted during his lifetime, but it certainly became public knowledge after his death in 1992, and she was an adult by then (in years at least; in some ways she still sounds like a child). It's very hard to believe that she did not become aware of that piece of information sometime in the last 32 years!

Reading about how lgbtq-phobic she is made me especially sad on Reed's behalf. From everything I've read about him, he was a mensch, a kind, decent, caring man who led a difficult life due to having to keep his sexuality a closely guarded secret in an era when his career would have been over if it had become known. That makes her behavior especially repellent to me. It's a real slap in the face to Robert Reed's memory for one of his TV kids to act like that, and he deserves better! The fact that she seems to have no respect for the memory of a damned nice guy who was such a big part of the fame and success she grew up with tells me she really is a spoled brat.

Thanks again for the link. Even though some of it made me sad, I'm glad to have read it. I like to know the truth, even when it's unpleasant.

5. You're very welcome - and I agree that it seems hard to believe that she would hate LGBTQ people based on her own
