BREAKING: U.S. Supreme Court Lets Virginia Purge Voters Days Before Election - Democracy Docket
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Virginia can reinstate its voter purge program targeting 1,600 alleged noncitizens. Lower courts blocked the program for violating a federal law that prohibits states from conducting mass list removals within 90 days of a federal election.
The Justice Department and civil rights groups sued the state, claiming the purge was removing naturalized and native-born citizens. Marc Elias and Paige Moskowitz discuss. - 10/30/2024.
