With a nationwide popular vote we would have a much more even election season

Nothing else makes sense - and that includes to the rest of the world. But Republicans oppose getting rid of the outmoded Electoral College since that's the only way that they can "win."

Here in New York, in the last election, we were expected to vote twice. The first election was for governor/lieutenant governor only since they were still arguing about district lines. So we had to go back and vote for the other seats/candidates when that was finally decided.
