Ryan Walters is just the tip of the pseudo-evangelistic iceberg. I'm pretty sure the ACLU will have it's hands full the next 4 years...and beyond.

When I was in the very early grades, we said a "school prayer" along with the Pledge. It wasn't particularly religious, all I remember was that it ended with "our parents, our teachers and our country." Then, when I was still elementary school, that prayer was ended and replaced with "a moment of silence" where we kids were told we could pray if we wanted. And of course we found that confusing. But then that ended and nobody missed it. I'm guessing that our "school prayer" was considered religious and that was legally prohibited, so now they're trying to bring actual religion into public schools??

Ryan Walters wants to turn PUBLIC SCHOOLS into religious fevered institutions. That's not what was ever intended in the original thoughts of the Founding Fathers, but this chuckleheaded douche nozzle thinks he is ABOVE the law of the Land.

prayers were just the opposite. Those don’t necessarily run right with Roman Catholics or Orthodox Christians not to mention Jews, Muslims & atheists.

When I was in school, there was a prayer before football games in which Jesus’ name was invoked. I no longer remember the words used, but even then I rolled my eyes.

In any case, ANY kind of organized or school-sponsored prayers should be banned. As long as there are tests in school, children will pray…

Otherwise take it to your place of worship.

Guy has a personable TV persona. No, seriously. Looks like a nice guy who just wants to help the kids, doesn't he? But, of course, like all lying fascists, he doesn't give a damn about the kids. Not a whit. He offers a Pharisaical public prayer of devotion. Jesus Christ on a cracker, the slime just drips and oozes from him once you see through the phony Fred Rogers veneer. Oklahoma is ranked 47th in education, but that's OK (no pun intended) (well, maybe a little bit intended) because it means the schools -- his schools -- are producing dumb ass kids without a clue about American history or the world they live in. Kids who are among Donnie Fatso's much loved "poorly educated", future MAGA voters.

(Hey, at least the state is number 3 . . . in teen pregnancies, a product, no doubt, of the school system's ban on any sexual education requirement)

So, a subservient, fascist, pseudo-christian douche bag wants to challenge the First Amendment? He may unintentionally be doing us all a favor by forcing the worthless MAGA Justices (I'm including you, Amy, along with John "ain't no more racism in America" Roberts) to shout out before the world that they have no belief or faith in the Constitution of the United States, and, in fact, advocate for a christo-fascist nation, steeped in ignorance and ruled by the rich and lawless.

Sorry for the rant. I edited it down to omit much of my sincerely felt but overly vituperative descriptions.

Or at least a closet gay or a wife abuser or something anti-Christian.
