Post election, viewership dropped by half for left leaning media outlets like MSNBC. Outraged viewers of staple shows, like Morning Joe, swear they aren’t coming back, after the top rated duo kissed Trump’s ring.

But tuning out the news is playing straight into the authoritarian’s playbook. The free press needs public support now more than ever, as Donald Trump’s authoritarian takeover looms. Suri Crowe reports. 11/30/2024.

1. It's too painful to watch.

And word that somehow the DNC has debt is unfathomable. How is that possible?

2. MSNBC is not the free press. They are owned by Republican donors.

They are given just enough leash to entertain us. Their nonstop showing of Trump in 2015 for ratings and trashing Hillary Clinton lead to this mess. Cable is dying.

3. Whether or not you watch msnbc or cnn

Could make a big difference if enough people don’t. But not in a good way. There’s a lot of good shows on both. It’s one of those throw out the baby with the bath water deals. I haven’t watched morning Joe since 2016. But I still am a regular watcher of a lot of their other shows. They didn’t lose the election for us. We lost the election. Hoping to force them into oblivion just leaves right wing media still standing. I hope more people understand that.

4. And I haven't watched CNN since 2005

I was watching John Kerry speaking live before the Senate when they cut away to show a video of some right-wing guy, "for balance" they said. I'm sure they still have some good shows, but that's when I gave up on them.

8. I like Jim Acosta.

Jake Tapper sometimes. But Acosta really has a good show. His recent interview with Rep. Jasmine Crockett was really great.

5. MSNBC killed itself!

Iraq, *,Hillary, Biden calls maggots garbage, debates that unfairly altered elections and on and on. I don’t feel sorry a bit. Fox was the the death of TV information. As the emergency room nurse told me, after a year of suffering under pandemic deniers and their viciousness, ‘ We live in a low information community.‘I’m sure by now he knows that we live in a low information country where a majority of the people are no longer able to sort right from wrong, good from evil, and have extinguished the concept of loving one another. No I don’t feel sorry for corporate media….the operative word being corporate.
