successful ability to make working-class people think that he was one of THEM and not an elite, college-educated, hoity-toity, baby-killing, turn-your-kid-trans-at-school Democrat.
So racism, misogyny, fake tough-guy image, fake populism, and a shit-ton of lies about Democrats won Rump the presidency.
Okay. Gotta sign out of DU for a while and take a short break from thinking about all this.

Trump did not promise to improve the lives of his voters. He promised to punish the people his voters wanted to hurt.
