Having been involved with several IT projects (nothing comparable to the proposed SS replacement), I am aware that even medium sized developments (Maintenance enhancement, New Development, Existing System redevelopment) are major efforts entailing months to years - and none are comparable to the SS replacement.

And to add - just finding the COBOL programmers that can assist in the translation for the new system…. Major effort, and as I said - combined with DOGE terminating staff. Major screw up potential.

And I have been retired almost 10 years and haven’t worked on a major project in 13+ years; lots of stress and even more stress.
