A story breaks that sounds like it could hurt his precious ratings and his instant responses are “I didn’t know about this”, “Nobody told me”, “I didn’t authorize that.”.

Because somehow, in his mind, being absolutely clueless about the things he’s supposed to be in charge of is a stronger look than taking responsibility when things go wrong.
