6. Wouldn't the name change have broken contracts anyway?

I would assume the contracts were signed under the old name and renaming the venue would either have broken the contracts or given parties a reasonable cause to cancel. For example, what if you signed to perform at Carnegie Hall and they subsequently changed the name to "Pile of Turds Hall"? Would you still be committed to performing there?
