(1,665 posts)I don't think she's a good choice for that role. I want someone more willing to work with a big tent party so we can get more competitive in states we aren't and she hasn't shown the ability to do that.
I get that she's given to responding with flashy snark, but that's not my thing for a politician. I think it's hard for example to win over Texas voters who might not like everything the Republicans are doing but are skeptical of us by calling a guy in a wheelchair Governor Hot Wheels, and then trying to claim she meant something else. She appeals to the further left or perhaps the angrier portion of our base, but I want someone more measured and experienced in the role of party building.
If you want a black woman in that role, I'd be more for Christale Spain, Lavora Barnes or Daniele Monroe-Moreno who have been party leaders in states so they have direct experience in trying to build a party in states with varying level of openness to voting for Democrats. Plus I like promoting people who have been doing the work rather than a consolation prize to someone who didn't get another job.
