65. I do miss very much when "going out" meant

preparing for days ahead with making sure everything was cleaned and pressed. Shoes shined, hair trimmed and maybe a new tie. A nice tasteful dress watch and tie bar. Sometimes the crisp white shirt may be one with cufflinks. Car well cleaned and shined up too.

In my grandfathers time going to where a suit was worn also meant making sure to get your hat to the hat shop so it could be checked and made to look as best possible.

Such a funny thing to remember now but as nice as everybody looked almost everyone also smoked and the cigarette smoke was all around.
