I'm definitely a Picard fan, and so many of his lines were simply profound. I love the interview with Patrick Stewart where he talks about his mother having been abused by his father when he was growing up. When she desperately called the authorities, they would always ask her "why, what did you do, Mrs. Stewart"? The delivery of his understanding of that charge to his mother is monumental.

I am very sorry about your best friend being lost to you. I think it's amazing when someone sees their spouse as their best friend. Shouldn't that always be the case? For most, it isn't. For some lucky ones, it is the truth. So, your loss must be immense, and I feel for you.
