Some were threatenned because they were foot draggers who didn't want to deal with difficult issues and some were astute p0oliticians who made trouble for rich and powerful dynasties and most because they weree nincompoops who thought they could ignore worldly matters while they pondered angels on the head of a pin

I doubt Pope Leo's cancellation was a FU. I think he realizes this bunchare now desperate enough that his life might be in danger here.
