Its a word that has great power for emphasis. It can be used as every part of speech. Knowing how and when to use profanity appropriately is an art. Not everyone can do that and even on my ears, it can sound vulgar at times. But to make a blanket statement that the use of profanity implies lack of education is complete and utter nonsense.
