The ultra-wealthy cannot possibly personally spend their fortune. Having more just doesn't matter to them in terms of lifestyle. They can buy whatever and however many houses they want. Private jets, private planes... any material posession.

BUT, they are driven not by a desire for more material posessions. They want power, and recognition, and a sense that they MATTER. And that comes, in their opinion, from their position on the Forbes wealth list - the scoreboard. They are all driven by a black hole of need that can only be filled by ever more.
