He says, "It [Kennedy Center] would have fully recovered, when none others will. It would have been a New Standard of Excellence, one of my many Gifts to Washington, D.C."

His taxpayer funded job is a gift? How are taxpayer funded buildings and institutions a "gift" to DC?
