Disciplined? In the light of an error of such enormous magnitude that it reflects badly upon the competency of the entire police department, termination is the only option.

Suppose Deputy Quesada had believed that he'd seen a gun in Thomas' nonexistent hand? Sure, we all make mistakes -- but there's a BIG difference between fumbling a football and running one into the end zone of the OPPOSING team!
