I'm not sure "sane" is the question here.
The question, as I see it, is if there are any republicans out there who aren't simply reflections of the worst aspects of Trump's personality.
They hate what he hates. They judge what he judges. They care very little for anyone who isn't like them, and will support Trump as long as he deals with the ones they hate, and want to see punished.
It matters very little how much they suffer, as long as the ones they hate suffer more.
Trump supporters are casually cruel, and totally unconcerned about the wreckage left in the wake of Trump's rampages. Trump can do whatever he pleases, and his hardcore base will still support him.

They aren't insane. They simply lack love, compassion, empathy...all the things that actually Make America Great.
