...will be Ukraine having to cede territory to Russia, as well as the potential restoration of Russia's economy, which is teetering on the brink of ruin. Once again, the U.S. will lose credibility by giving allies the impression we're going to be there for them only to stroll away. It's happened to the Kurds, Afghans, and now it looks like it's going to happen to Ukraine, a country we helped convince to give up their nukes for "security guarantees". Why in the world would Iran or any other country decide to end its nuke program in the face of the U.S.'s consistent abandonment of prospective partners?

Assad is in Moscow because Russia couldn't commit any more resources to his government to keep it from collapse. The bravery and perseverance of Ukraine helped make that happen, and I'm pretty sure they can expect no more significant help from us. It almost never fails that missed opportunities like this come back to bite this country.
