...my husband had pneumonia and wanted me to take him to the local er...where he worked! We had to ..of course...OK this with the HMO and they denied it saying we had to go to the open clinic 45 miles away.....who immediately sent him to our local ER we wanted to go to anyway.

But...when he had cancer years later they came thru and paid all the bills and even gave him some $$ for the time off work.

so who knows...
