vs the FAA.

I expect some are just regular planes moving along a flight path (and those who are not used to being out at night noticing the landing/taking off of planes, would probably freak).

I know I am under a flight path for 3 airports - PHL, PNE, KLOM, so I am used to all kinds of things flying overhead - the 9/11 almost week-long "ground stop" WAS the freakiest thing I had ever experienced regarding what was a complete lack of anything in the sky (outside of the designated CAPs that were flying back and forth along the east coast).

But there are some different types of quadcopters and bigger "drones" mixed in there in this case, particularly when you have reports of things "darting around".

IMHO, this might be like how you have some jackasses illegally aiming laser pointer lights at helicopters and planes to blind the pilots as a joke. I.e., misusing these things to get a laugh.
