4. The "Hong Kong flu" of 1968-69 was apparently a bird flu. Everyone got it.

No one called it the "H3N2 strain of Influenza A virus" back then. I was only 12 at the time. I caught it on Christmas day, along with my sister. We both got sick at the same time.
