2) Whenever the conversation begins with something like, "I'm a Marine," then it's a pretty sure bet that
.....a) he was never a Marine, or
.....b) he was a Marine, but snagged himself an other-than-honorable discharge, or
.....c) had a desk job, or
.....d) pissed his pants if he ever heard a shot fired in anger

Those who put themselves in harm's way usually don't brag about it
Those who brag about having been a bad-ass, usually weren't.
