Comey made a voluntarily appearance earlier to avoid the DOJ arrest warrant issued to make trump happy. https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=post&post&forum=1002&pid=21205802
trump really wanted to subject Comey to a perp walk and so Comey's attorney arranged for a voluntary appearance. You only need to appear once. The judge has accepted this appearance
