(39,290 posts)43. I owned probably an equal amount over my 62 years of driving. I Have gone from stick to auto then back again.
I have had transmission trouble in two vehicles one auto and one stick, so they both break. The auto was a Ford Tempo
with over 100k miles and the manual was a Ford Ranger with about 20k that was still under factory warranty, so they both break.
At times I had two vehicles one stick and the other auto, was no problem going from one to the other. Driving a stick shift is more fun.

Both of our company's semis are 18 speed manuals and my POV is a 6 speed stick.
