(28,705 posts)When I was a little girl every Sunday I would search, and double search the Detroit Free Press' TV guide (remember those?). Usually I'd be disappointed as White Christmas 🎄 wasn't going to be on TV that week. Some years it wasn't televised at all.
As soon as I got my first VCR, I bought myself the tape for $89.99. That was a lot of money! Thank goodness the prices drastically went down!
Today I own 3 DVR copies of White Christmas. All 3 were gifts.
I've already watched it once this season, and will again soon.
I love Bing Crosby. He and Danny Kaye are perfect in it. Irving Berlin's songs, their singing, and dancing, are just beyond awesome to me. 👌
I have no idea why this movie has such a strong affect on me. But it sure does!
At the end of the movie, I tear up and cry when they call "Attention!", and salute the old general. Then a miracle: it snows!
🎶 What can you do with a general
When he stops being a general? 🎶
🎶 Oh, what can you do with a general who retires? 🎶
There are other movies I must see each year, but it's not Christmas without White Christmas.
