A few months ago a wind storm took out all the communications in my little town, no internet, no phone and not even analog radio! For 18 hours.
I was sort of okay except I didn't know how much area was without communications, could it be statewide or more? That was my greatest concern. But I found out later what it was. We're in a bowl so without our comms tower, no comms.
Then, earlier this week I took my car to a painter about an hour away and had a friend drive me home only to discover that I left my phone in the car... after my friend left. So that left me with no phone and no car. Fortunately I still had internet so I emailed my friend who went and got my phone and sent it back to me, arrived a day early too. But I was without my phone for a couple days during which a dear friend who lives far away called in a wellness check! She sent emails to someone but it wasn't my address so that was freaking her out. I'm just glad I was home when the cops showed up! I don't want to think about what they would have done if they came while I was out walking around town until ten minutes before they arrived!
I did have a couple of quiet days that I embraced, it's a good thing to have such brief interruptions, they help us appreciate them missing elements when they return.
Have a good day and a great weekend!
